ABOUT
Who We Are
Sunscreen Is Not So Sunny aims to educate the public, specifically college students, on the harmful effects chemical sunscreens pose to coral reefs around the world. In Florida, this issue is very prevalent because policy has been passed that blocks local communities from the ability to prohibit the use of certain chemicals in sunscreens. Coral reefs are already experiencing many threats from climate change so action must be taken to protect them now more than ever.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
We need everyone to take action and change their habits to protect coral reefs globally!
Every individual has the ability to motivate others and inspire true change. By pledging to eliminate your use of harmful sunscreens, you are not only protecting the environment but can inspire others to do the same.
One of the ways you can carry out our mission is by supporting reef-safe sunscreen companies. Spread the word about these companies and help more people make the switch.
Active participation is an essential part of our movement’s success. Engaging in policy advocacy is a powerful way to make a difference. With our email template to Governor DeSantis, it is easy to take action for Florida's reefs.
